Edv Anderson Kiddush Cup Vintage Silver Collectible Decor Stamped 925S EDV Andersen Danmark

In Jewish tradition, a Kiddush cup is used during Shabbat and holiday meals to hold wine or grape juice for the blessing that sanctifies the day. This one is by Edv Andersen, a Danish Silversmith, active in the mid 20th century. It is stamped 925s, for sterling silver, made of 92.5 % pure silver. Measures 2 5/8 inches high, has a 2 1/8 inch base diameter, and a 2 3/4 inch top diameter. The weight by itself with no packaging is 3.7 ounces. There is tarnish on this due to age. My belief in cleaning metal is to a light cleaning only and then leave to discretion of buyer. Many want in as found condition with original marks and patina left alone. According to research these had some gilding on them also. Can see where much of that has worn. This is a beautiful sterling silver piece that has survived from mid last century.
